Privacy policy

What Open Wide Websites does with your information, written to be read rather than to be legally impenetrable.

Last updated 8 September 2026.

Who we are

WDL Digital Ltd, trading as Open Wide Websites, is the data controller for the information described in this policy. Our registered office is 124 City Road, London, England, EC1V 2NX and our company registration number is 12944648.

You can contact us about anything in this policy at hello@openwidewebsites.com.

What we collect

When you complete an enquiry form we collect your name, your practice name, your email address, your telephone or WhatsApp number, your current website address if you provide it, the package and monthly plan you selected, which design concept you clicked if any, the page you enquired from, and anything you write in the message field.

When you message us on WhatsApp or by email we collect whatever you choose to send us, together with your contact details.

When you visit the site Google Analytics collects information about your visit, described in the next section.

We do not ask for and do not want patient data. Please do not send us information about identifiable patients.

Google Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use this website: which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, roughly where in the world they are, and which device they use.

Google Analytics sets cookies on your device to do this. We do not load Google Analytics until you consent to it through the cookie banner, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by clearing the cookies for this site.

We have IP anonymisation enabled and we have turned off Google Signals and advertising personalisation, so the data is not used to build an advertising profile of you.

Google acts as our data processor for this, and may transfer data outside the UK. Those transfers are covered by the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Google’s own privacy information is at policies.google.com/privacy.

We set no advertising or remarketing cookies of our own. Fonts are served from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.

Why we use your information

To respond to your enquiry and prepare a quotation. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: you contacted us asking for a quote, and replying is what you would expect.

To provide services if you become a client. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract.

To understand how the website is used. Our lawful basis is consent, given through the cookie banner.

To meet our legal obligations, including tax record keeping. Our lawful basis is legal obligation.

We do not use enquiry data for marketing unless you separately ask to hear from us.

Who we share it with

Netlify hosts this website and processes enquiry form submissions.

Google processes analytics data as described above.

Our accountant receives invoicing records where you become a client.

We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to any third party for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

Enquiry data is kept for 24 months from your last contact with us and is then deleted.

If you become a client, we keep project records for as long as we are working together and for six years afterwards, which is the period HMRC requires for tax records.

Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to restrict how we use it, to object to our using it, and to receive it in a portable format.

Email hello@openwidewebsites.com and we will action any request within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
