GDC & CQC compliant as standard

SEO for dentists

SEO for dentists is the work of making a practice appear when local patients search for the treatments it provides. For most practices that means the local pack, a page for each high-value treatment, and increasingly whether ChatGPT and Google’s AI Overviews mention you at all. Our Visibility plan tracks 30 keywords at £497 a month.

  • 30 or 100 keywords tracked, depending on plan
  • Local pack, organic and AI tracked together, not separately
  • Monthly reporting, no long contract

The three surfaces

Where dental SEO actually gets won

Dental search has split into three places, and most agencies still only work on one.

The local pack. The three map results at the top. This is where the majority of “dentist near me” traffic goes, and it is driven by your Google Business Profile, proximity, review volume and consistency of your name, address and phone across the web. It is not driven by your homepage.

Organic results. Where treatment searches land. “Dental implants cost”, “Invisalign vs braces”, “composite bonding price”. These are won with pages, not with keywords sprinkled into an existing site.

AI answers. Increasingly patients ask ChatGPT or read a Google AI Overview rather than clicking. Those systems quote sources. When we researched this market we found no UK dental agency being cited at all, which means the ground is genuinely unclaimed.

The work

What we do each month

On the Visibility plan: 30 target keywords and AI prompts tracked across Google, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. Google Business Profile managed with weekly posts and review responses. Local citations built and name, address and phone consistency corrected across directories. Two pieces of content written and published. Review generation built into the patient journey within GDC rules. Conversion tracking on enquiries and bookings. A monthly report.

On the Authority plan: all of that across 100 keywords, plus six to eight content pieces a month, treatment-level landing pages, multi-location coverage for groups, digital PR and citation building to earn the links AI systems weight, entity and knowledge panel work, and a monthly competitor citation gap analysis.

Honesty

What we will not do

We will not promise a position. Anyone who guarantees you the top spot for “dentist [your town]” is either lying or planning to rank you for something nobody searches.

We will not buy links. It is a short-term gain and a long-term liability, and in a regulated profession the reputational risk is not worth it.

We will not write patient testimonials for you or generate reviews. Both breach the GDC guidance and, since the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, fake reviews are a banned commercial practice with penalties of up to 10% of global turnover.

FAQs

Questions dentists ask us

How long does dental SEO take to work?

Local pack movement can happen within weeks if your Google Business Profile has been neglected, because the fixes are quick. Organic rankings for treatment terms typically take three to six months, and competitive terms in dense markets such as Westminster take longer. Anyone promising faster is describing a different outcome from the one you want.

What is the difference between the Visibility and Authority plans?

Visibility at £497 a month is search engine optimisation with AI optimisation layered on top, across 30 keywords. Authority at £1,997 a month is complete SEO plus AI visibility treated as its own discipline, across 100 keywords and AI prompts, with entity work, monthly competitor citation gap analysis, digital PR and considerably more content. Visibility suits a single practice; Authority suits groups and practices competing hard on implants, Invisalign or cosmetic work.

Do we need a new website first?

Not always. If your existing site is technically sound and structured sensibly, SEO can be done on it. If it is a slow page-builder site with one services page, the SEO budget will largely be spent working around the platform. We will tell you honestly which situation you are in.

Can you guarantee first page?

No, and nobody honestly can. What we can commit to is the work, the tracking and a monthly report showing exactly where you moved and why.

Is there a contract?

Thirty days’ notice on all plans. We would rather keep clients because the work is working.

What is SEO for dentists?

SEO for dentists is the work of making a practice appear when local patients search for the treatments it provides. In practice it has three parts: the local map pack, which is driven by your Google Business Profile rather than your website; organic results for treatment searches such as “dental implants cost”, which are won with a page per treatment; and increasingly whether ChatGPT and Google’s AI Overviews name you when someone asks them for a dentist.

How to choose a dental SEO company?

Ask four questions. Do they publish their prices, or does everything start with a call? Will they show you the keywords they intend to target before you sign, rather than after? Do they understand the GDC guidance on advertising, including that you cannot incentivise reviews and that “specialist” is a restricted title? And what happens if you leave, specifically who owns the content, the Google Business Profile and the tracking. An agency that answers all four plainly is rarer than it should be.

Which SEO company is the best in the UK?

There is no honest answer to that question, and an agency that tells you it is them has told you something about itself rather than about the market. What matters is fit: whether the agency works in your sector, whether it understands the rules that govern your advertising, whether it publishes what it charges, and whether it will show you its plan before you commit. We would rather be judged on those than on a ranking we wrote ourselves.

What is the 80/20 rule in marketing a practice?

The general idea is that a small share of your effort produces most of your result. In dental marketing it holds unusually well: for most practices a handful of high-value treatment pages, implants, Invisalign, composite bonding, plus a properly maintained Google Business Profile, produce the large majority of new private enquiries. That is why we build a page per treatment rather than one services page, and why the Google Business Profile work sits inside every plan.
